The creator  The history of "Flor d'Ametler" goes back to around 70 years ago. There were a few calmer and simple times on the island of Mallorca.  The creator of this very special fragrance grew in a completely intact rural area of the island. And that was how one day, Bernardo Vallori, walking under the almond trees and breathing in that fragrance, thought of his mother and grandmother, as they were preparing their own perfumes macerating the delicate flowers with rosemary, lavender, sage and mints. He shuddered with the aroma. Feelings of love, tenderness, happiness, euphoria and passion took possession of his body... while an idea took form in his mind. He would use his knowledge and his studies in chemistry to capture that smell, in the hope that his aroma would be capable of waking up the best feelings in those persons who were using it. Determined to prepare his perfume, he was not content to pour it only in the bottle. That perfume made with the almond blossoms, knows as a symbol of hope and prelude to spring, would be like a message of love, which would run around the world inside a bottle, in expectation of being opened. So what will be better that to replace the classic message on the bottle by a flower, the same one with which the perfume was made.

That is how from Mallorca, his island, bottles would go out to any part of the world, with a natural flower inside, as a permanent message of hope and love.

The actual ingredients were never changed. These continue being as authentic as they were at the beginning.

Every year in February, the miracle of the blooming of the almond tree occurs again. The flowers, a prelude to spring, give Mallorca a snow cover, transforming the landscape. Beside the wreath of flowers, a subtle and delicate aroma wakes up the appetite of the first bees.

In the sunniest days the family, which zealously guards the secret of "Flor d'Ametler", picks delicately each one of the flowers from the tree bay hand. Assistants are not missing in these days, because, in spite of the hard work, there is a festive atmosphere.

Midday the workers have a well-deserved break to eat the traditional paella cooked outdoors. After lunch, the flowers of the almond trees are individually and carefully handpicked, in order to preserve his entire freshness and fragrance. They are submerged in a liquid which ingredients are known by few people and which contains the extract of the last years’ production.

And so then, there is an uninterrupted chain in which the flowers of the current year are reserved to use them in the perfume production of the following years.

Filling bottles is another procedure that requires very careful hands. As soon as the bottle is refilled with perfume, each flower is picking up individually of the receptacle and is placed carefully in the narrow neck of the bottle. Then, it is dropped inside the bottle with special care. The process ends by positioning the atomizer.
